🍌 Meet the ‘Banana Boat’!

Last night we had the privilege of recognizing Cindy Carpenter, our longest-serving member, with a Lifetime Membership to Boone County Search & Rescue.

At 2019 hrs, Boone County Search & Rescue was requested to the Highway 30 Boat Ramp to assist the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with a water-related incident on the Des Moines River.

Not every training looks like jumping into rushing water or lowering over a cliff face, but these are the days that make those moments possible.

Boone County Search & Rescue spent the evening working on swiftwater wading techniques, focusing on safe and effective methods for crossing thigh-to-waist deep moving water.

At 10:20 AM this morning, Boone County 911 received a call from a hiker reporting that his brother had fallen and likely broken his ankle while exploring the Old Indian Trail near the Crow’s Nest in Ledges State Park.

Boone County Search & Rescue rolled into the County Fair Parade in style—and brought a very special guest along for the ride… our brand-new Sasquatch mascot!

Last night, Boone County Search & Rescue held a dynamic training session focused on river rescue operations.

Today, our Boone County Search & Rescue team took on Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) training at the Central Iowa Expo, thanks to the expertise of Sheriff’s Office Driving Instructor Deputy Quinn.
